Turning Ideas Into Action ๐Ÿš€

Itโ€™s Hackathon Time!

We jump into a justDice Hackathon every few months, bringing the team together for a few days to focus on passion projects. These events let us step aside from our usual work and dive into creativity, innovation, and collaboration. Whether building internal tools, exploring new frameworks, or experimenting with ideas, Hackathons at justDice are about pushing our day-to-day boundaries and having fun. Letโ€™s not forget the free foodโ€”itโ€™s the real MVP ๐Ÿ˜‰

Themed Hackathons? ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป

With an open theme over this year’s Hackathons, the team explored everything from cutting-edge libraries to mobile app development tools. Here are a few highlights from Q3:

  • Uzair & Matias: Implemented an iOS bundle service for over-the-air updates, paving the way for faster app experiments.
  • DoฤŸukan: Built AdCraft, a web-based tool to streamline playable ad exports across networks.
  • Manas: Designed an Android widget for user retention and feature promotion.
  • Gyรถrgy: Experimented with GOTH, a Golang-based stack for building faster internal tools.
  • Anna: Took her first steps in Git, creating her first Java project and publishing it to GitLab.

Some of these ideas have already evolved into game-changing tools we use dailyโ€”proof that great things happen when creativity meets collaboration.

Why We Love Hackathons at justDice

Hackathons arenโ€™t just about technical breakthroughsโ€”theyโ€™re about inspiring everyone to:

  • Pursue Passion Projects: Step away from daily tasks to work on something exciting.
  • Collaborate or Go Solo: Team up or tackle a solo challengeโ€”the choice is yours.
  • Experiment Freely: Think outside the box and try new things, whether itโ€™s rewarded gaming tools or fresh design concepts.
We weren’t lying about the free lunches

Hereโ€™s what some of our team had to say:

โ€œHackathons let me step away from routine tasks, collaborate with others, and explore creative ideas that may not come up in daily work. Theyโ€™re a great way to experiment with features and uncover new, impactful ideas.โ€ โ€“ Manas, Software Engineer

โ€œI enjoy Hackathons because they allow me to explore and apply new technologies in real projects, contributing to both personal growth and company success.โ€ โ€“ DoฤŸukan, Playable Ads Dev
